“On your bike” – TDX and FITC team up for 250km charity cycle ride

TDX Group Nottingham and FITC staff are teaming up for a 250km cycle ride to raise vital funds for three charities across Nottinghamshire.

Following on from their 5-a-side football competition at the Portland Centre, TDX are back and looking to raise even more money as they take on their biggest challenge yet. The rules of event stipulate that each team of 5 must have a recovery vehicle and 4 riders, 2 of which must be cycling the designated route at any one time. With the ride beginning at 6am on Friday 8 September, we wish all those involved good luck and hope to see a large crowd to welcome the boys to the finish at the TDX Office on Fletcher Gate.

Undertaking the challenge is seasoned cyclist and Portland Leisure Centre Manager, Matt Simpson. Matt and four colleagues from the OVB Cycle Club in West Bridgford, a British Cycling supported organisation, are raising money for FITC, Inspire Nottingham and the Children’s Bereavement Centre, three charities very close to the rider’s hearts. “Working at the Portland Centre gives me the opportunity to see how each patient and participant grows in confidence, fitness and morale. It is fantastic” explained Centre Manager Matt. “Between the four us, we must have clocked up around 4,000 miles in road, mountain and velodrome cycling – the distance between London and New York!”

Founded in 2004, TDX Group have provided local and national businesses with technology, data and advisory solutions to improve debt liquidation results and the fair treatment of consumers in financial arrears. Partnership and Events Executive James Bromley praised the work of TDX. “To have an organisation like TDX on board is an exciting time for everyone at the charity. An organisation with a real community focus, we hope that this cycle ride is just the beginning of a very exciting partnership and we wish the riders well on their travels!”
