In preparation for the big day on Sunday 24th September 2017, Football in the Community [FITC] have been confirmed as Community Partners for this year’s Robin Hood Marathon.
The event itself is one of the highlights of the year, offering a Full Marathon, Half Marathon and even a Mini Marathon for all the family so there is no reason why anyone can’t take part.
FITC have had volunteers take part in this event over the last few years but this year, for the first time, have become Official Community Partners which enables us to spread the word about our Charity and enables more people than ever to take part and raise funds for FITC and the projects we run in the community.
James Bromley, Partnerships and Events Executive said “I’m delighted that we have aligned ourselves with the Ikano Robin Hood Marathon 2017 and to become the Official Community Partner is a great opportunity for us to raise the profile of our Charity and the life changing work we do in the community. From early on, we knew this year’s event would be hugely popular with already several places taken by staff and supporters ready to challenge themselves in aid of FITC. However, this partnership allows us to offer even more spaces to our supporters and allows anyone who wants to get involved to do so. We’ve worked closely with the team at Sweatshop, who run the event, as well as the headline sponsors Ikano over the last few months so I’d like to thank them all for organising such a great occasion and I’m looking forward to the big day in just a few short months”.
