In 2016 I jumped at the opportunity to join the Nottingham 10k, as I’ve mentioned before I’m not the fittest of Notts County fans but I have got the drive and commitment to raise money for FITC, which in my eyes is one of the most inspiring parts of the Notts County family.
I first learned of the work of FITC in about 2014, I was amazed at what good was coming out of Meadow Lane be that health, education, social inclusion or sports participation.
I was extremely impressed at the work FITC has achieved with people across all boards but especially people suffering with anxiety and depression, a subject close to my heart.
This year I managed a personal PW (personal worst) of 1.39:10. A good 10 minutes slower then I wanted but still raising 215% of my £100 target. That’s £411 over the past two 10k runs.
I’m looking forward to my next FITC event, which will be stewarding the Nottingham half and full Marathon in September, after having such a fantastic time stewarding the event last year. And can’t recommend joining us for the event either as a runner or steward highly enough.
