FITC to Kenya

When and where is this trip?

In October 2017 (half term), you have the chance to be Notts County FC Football in the Community second team to travel to Nakuru, Kenya for 10 nights, flying locally from Birmingham into Nairobi.

What sort of work will I be doing in Kenya?

There are three types of volunteer roles to choose from which include:

  • Community work and teaching in primary school classrooms with children aged 4 – 12
  • Leading multi-sport sessions for children in a variety of sports
  • Community building and school renovation to improve local facilities

Is it all hard work?

Of course not! You can’t go that far and not experience some of the sights of Kenya. You will experience a rift-valley adventure day, visit a giraffe sanctuary, tour a local market and attend a farewell celebration ceremony to thank you for your hard work.

How much does it cost?

The total cost (excluding spending money) is £1995, which can be generated by fundraising prior to October 2016 or gaining sponsorship. After securing your place with an initial deposit, the outstanding balance is paid in two instalments prior to departure. Our FITC team will be happy to support you to help you raise the required funds between January and August 2017.

What is included in the cost?

Plenty! African Adventures handle much of the admin such as visas, personal insurance, accommodation, three meals per day, airport transfers, trips and the co-ordination of project work in Kenya.

What is not included in the cost?

Very little! Vaccinations your responsibility as is your spending money. Personal medical expenses are also not included.

I like the sound of this, what next?
