As a current participant on Notts County Football in the Community’s (FITC) life-changing CARE (Cancer And Rehabilitation Exercise) programme, I’m delighted to introduce May’s newsletter. I have been taking part in CARE, which is available to men and women living with cancer, for some time and have really benefitted.
I am in the process of recovery from a recent operation. Since 2007, I’ve had four operations, eleven sessions of chemotherapy and 84 shots of Radiotherapy. CARE has helped me rebuild my fitness and energy levels massively and introduced me to some amazing people all with a story to tell that is similar to mine. I can’t thank FITC’s CARE team enough for their dedication and support.
I’m going to attend FITC’s Charity Ball on 17th June and will be joining other CARE participants on The Bakewell Ramble on 24th June. This is a sponsored walk around the Peak District, raising money for FITC. There are still spaces available, so feel free to join us on what promises to be a lovely day.
I have experienced first-hand the amazing work that FITC do in the community and I ask that you continue to support them by checking out their upcoming fundraising events and getting involved.
