Hello and welcome to Football in the Community’s October newsletter.
What a month it’s been for the charity and the club. I have had the honour of working closely with Notts County FITC on a number of their events, including the CEO Sleepout and Community Day. You can read more about these in the articles below.
2017 has been a monumental year for myself, Notts County and FITC. In January I was hugely proud to become owner of such a magnificent football club and I’ve enjoyed learning more about how FITC enhances and enriches the lives of thousands of people each year through 35 projects in 20 of the city’s wards. You can read all about the work of Football Community in their 2017 annual report which is on their website (CLICK HERE).
It was great to celebrate the charity’s work at this year’s Community Day, which saw more than 13,000 people attend our home fixture against Forest Green Rovers. More than 5,000 tickets were given to schools and project participants and there was a real buzz around the ground, reaffirming the fact that Meadow Lane is not only home to the world’s oldest Football League club, but also to some very talented, compassionate and amazing people.
