Newsletter #22 – January 2018

Chris Leslie 200pxIt is an absolute pleasure to introduce the first Notts County Football in the Community newsletter of 2018. 2017 has been a challenging and rewarding year for my constituents in Nottingham East and FITC alike.

A few months ago, I attended one of twelve schools benefiting from the Premier League funded work FITC deliver in schools across the county. Notts County FITC, in partnership with the Premier League, EFL Trust and Kinder Sport initiatives have enriched the educational experience for hundreds of children each week across the county.

Football within Nottingham is a key tool to engage children from all walks of life and it is fantastic to see that participants at schools similar to the one I visited (Huntingdon Academy) have benefited immensely from the scheme. Lunch clubs, classroom learning and extracurricular activities are all great ways for children in my constituency to stay motivated and explore new opportunities presented to them by these fantastic, enthusiastic coaches.

Below you can read all about how FITC have been delivering their programme throughout November and December of 2017. I am sure there will be many more successes to come for the rest of the year and I wish you all a happy and healthy 2018.
