Heading for Goal (also known as HFG) is a classroom based programme that works with excluded and/or students facing exclusion from mainstream schools at Key Stage 3 and 4 on a full and part time basis.

We have a fully equipped classroom onsite at Meadow Lane and our staff specialise in working with hard to engage teenagers.

HFG has a proud history and record of delivering positive results. This programme runs throughout the academic year.

Students study:

  • BTEC Sport at Level 1 or 2

  • Functional Skills Maths, English, ICT and PSD at all levels

  • Sports Leaders Level 1

Education Manager David Crooks describes the programme:

HFG is our longest running programme and has always been extremely popular and very successful. It provides an opportunity for students to study a variety of subjects.

These can lead to achievement for NCFE Level 1 and 2 along with BTEC Sports. We try to meet the needs of every learner.

Our success rate has been and continues to be, incredibly high. Students have been able to achieve qualifications that have enabled them to make their next move into further education or employment.

The team at HFG work incredibly hard to provide a professional environment that makes a difference for all our students.
