Active Schools

Active-Schools-banner---WEB

Active Schools delivers quality physical activity in the school setting to increase pupils’ awareness of the importance of living a healthy active lifestyle, and demonstrates ways they can do this. We work with all of Nottingham’s 78 primary schools throughout the course of the school year, as well as its four special schools, working with 7,380 children every year.

Active Schools is for primary school children in years five and six. We use a variety of sports including football, athletics, tennis, crab football, basketball, cricket, hockey and rugby, among many other activities to engage children and show them ways they can be active. After completing Active Schools, pupils are signposted onto local clubs and activities, so they are able to continue their healthy, active lifestyles.
