My name is Ryan and I am the Funding and Monitoring Officer at Notts County fc Football in the Community. This is a new role within the organisation which will involve me identifying/applying for potential funding opportunities, whilst also being involved in the monitoring and evaluation of our initiatives in order to highlight the positive impact that FITC has on the people of Nottingham. After only graduating from Nottingham Trent University in July 2014, I am very proud to of been offered this role with the organisation.
I have followed football all my life, being an armchair Gooner from birth and playing for my local team, Bourne Town Juniors Football Club, from a young age until I was 16. After being awarded ‘Most Improved Player’ 2 years in a row I decided it was time for me to hang up my boots and dip my toe into the world of coaching. From here I gained my FA Level 1 and coached various local youth teams before going on to study a BA Joint Honours Degree in ‘Sport & Leisure’ and ‘Psychology & Education’ at Nottingham Trent University. During my time at university; sport psychology, sport development and social inclusion & sport were just a handful of topics covered within the sport strand. It was through a combination of my love for sport and my studies which solidified my ambition to work within the sporting industry. I hope that my personal drive, fresh knowledge of contemporary sport theories gained from my studies, and willingness to want to make a difference can provide a positive contribution to the organisation and the people we work with.
