…for Primary Goals 2!
If you haven’t already, please vote for Primary Goals 2 in The People’s Project online. Although the postal vote deadline has now closed you can still vote online until noon on Monday (3rd April).
Your vote will help to secure £50,000 for Football in the Community’s Primary Goals 2 project which provides early-intervention techniques to primary school children in Nottingham. These techniques and skills are based around communication and behaviour. Helping pupils to understand and develop their personal awareness of; rules, pride, self-esteem, etc, aiming to prevent the young people from developing behavioural and social problems throughout their life.
We recently received some more feedback from a Primary School we have just finished working in, the teacher of the year 3 class had this to say:
The coaches have been outstanding. The children admire and respect them enormously. They deliver excellent sessions every week and encourage the children in all aspects of their learning. FITC’s coaches are careful to take both individual needs and the needs of the wider class into account. They seek meaningful feedback from the pupils on how the previous session has helped that week and then build on this so that the learning is always moving forward. They work with thoughtfulness, respect, compassion and conscientiousness and I have loved watching my class grow confident in their care.
This programme has had a huge impact on my class. The children love the sessions and are learning, in a very real and tangible sense, how to put core behaviours and values into action. The combination of the lesson aspect and the practical aspect works beautifully, reinforcing the learning and building the children’s confidence.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the coaches and the Primary Goals programme. What a wonderful opportunity and a super experience!
