Saul Deeney – Coach

Saul Deeney

Saul Deeney, Coach

My name is Saul and I’m an ex-professional football player.

I started my career at Notts County at the age of 15, I spent 8 years at the club and I really loved my time playing for Notts, living in the area and getting to the people in Nottingham. I also represented Ireland in the under 15’s to 21 squad with the help from my position at Notts County FC.

I then moved to Burton Albion which was a great time in my career, working with some great coaches and staff. We got to play Manchester United in an FA Cup draw and also got promoted to the Football League. Later, I made the move to Derby County FC. I got to spend 5 seasons with them, and that will always be something I’ll always be proud of.

After my playing career ended I came back to Notts Count to work with Football in the Community at a coach.

I like working with young people and giving back to them the experiences I have had playing pro football and teaching them new skills. I always aim to bring a good work ethic, my playing and coaching skills, and happiness to the young people and adults who I work with.
